Equipment: 1 ball
How the play works
- 1Coming up the floor, 1 passes ahead to 2 on the wing and follows the pass.
- 22 hands the ball back to 1, who comes round the outside. If the defender trails, 1 turns the corner and drives.
- 3If nothing is open, 5 (trailing the play) arrives and sets a ball screen for 1.
- 41 uses the screen towards the middle. 5 rolls, 2 drops to the corner, 3 and 4 space on the far side.
Coaching points
- Play it at speed, before the defence is set
- Hand-off: giver holds the ball still, receiver takes it
- Read each step: if the layup is there, take it
