How the play works
- 1Zone presses (2-2-1, 1-2-1-1) want to trap the first pass near the sideline. Don't dribble into it.
- 21 catches the inbound pass and faces up the floor. 4, the inbounder, steps in level with the ball on the other side.
- 3As the trap arrives, 1 passes back to 4. 4 swings it straight on to 2 on the far sideline.
- 42 attacks up the empty side with 5 in the middle and 3 running long.
Coaching points
- Pass before the trap closes, not after
- 4 stays level with or behind the ball, never ahead of it
- Two quick passes, then go
