Equipment: 1 ball
How the play works
- 14 and 5 stand side by side around the free-throw line, a step apart. 2 starts under the basket. 1 has the ball on the wing, 3 in the far corner.
- 22 sprints up the lane and through the gap between 4 and 5 to the top of the key.
- 3As soon as 2 is through, 4 and 5 step together shoulder to shoulder: the doors close and the defender is stuck behind.
- 41 passes to 2 for the open three.
Coaching points
- Screeners: leave a clear gap, then close it without leaning
- Shooter: straight line, hands ready
- Timing matters most: walk it through first
