Equipment: 1 ball
How the play works
- 1Box set: 4 and 5 on the blocks, 2 and 3 at the elbows. 1 takes the ball out and slaps it to start.
- 24 (ball-side block) screens across the lane for 5, who cuts hard to the ball-side block for the layup.
- 3After screening, 4 turns and seals their defender: often the screener is the one who's open.
- 4At the same time 3 screens down for 2, who comes to the top as the safety pass.
Coaching points
- Wait for the screen, then cut shoulder to shoulder
- Screener: screen, then open up to the ball
- Inbounder: look inside first, safety last
