Attack a cone, retreat two dribbles under control, then explode with a change of direction.

How to run the drill
- 1Start at half court with a ball; cone at the top of the key.
- 2Attack the cone, retreat dribble two steps back while staying low.
- 3Cross over and attack the other side for a layup or pull-up.
- 4Alternate hands each rep.
Coaching points
- Retreat with your chest up and the ball protected
- Don't turn your back to the defense
- Burst after the crossover
