Equipment: 4 balls, 4 cones
How to run the drill
- 1Four lines in a square, a ball at the front of each line.
- 2On the call, the first player in each line dribbles to the centre, stops, pivots and passes to the front of the next line (clockwise).
- 3After passing, join the back of the line you passed to.
- 4Vary it: stride stop or jump stop, left or right pivot foot, forward or reverse pivot, then go anticlockwise.
Coaching points
- Why pivot? Protect the ball, make a passing angle, beat pressure, avoid travelling
- Stop on balance, knees bent
- Pivot foot stays down until the ball has gone
