How to run the drill
- 1Two defenders in tandem at each end; one outlet player on each sideline at the free-throw line extended at each end.
- 2Three players attack 3-on-2 at one end.
- 3On a score or rebound, the defender with the ball outlets to an outlet player; the opposite outlet sprints the middle, and the rebounder fills the last lane.
- 4Those three attack 3-on-2 at the other end. Of the three who just attacked, two become the new outlets and one joins the remaining defender as the new tandem.
- 5Keep it continuous; play to a set number of scores or minutes.
Coaching points
- Outlet: get wide, back to the sideline
- Middle player: stop at the elbow, make the defense commit
- Wings: run wide and sprint to the rim
- Defense: top stops the ball, bottom takes the first pass
