Equipment: 1 ball each
How to run the drill
- 1One caller stands at half court facing away. Everyone else waits on the baseline with a ball.
- 2The caller counts out loud (as fast or slow as they like), then spins round.
- 3Dribblers move forward while the caller counts and must freeze, holding the ball, when they turn.
- 4Anyone caught moving goes back to the baseline. First to reach the caller swaps places with them.
Coaching points
- Stop with a jump stop — feet land together
- Keep the ball close so you can stop quickly
- Patience beats speed
